Reduced Laughter Contagion in Children Could be the mechanism by which Narcissism, Antisocial Behavior and Psychopathy are developed

This new Medical Study sheds some light on one area of development of a child which could impact that’s child’s future.

If the young child is raised in an environment where there are no times of laughter among the people raising that child, then  the child could be negatively impacted. One example could be a Husband and Wife constantly bickering and fighting and never having time to laugh together. The Child could grow up in a sad home where the family never shared laughter together.

So something as simple of having laughter in a child’s life, could  impact their development into Human Beings who care and have empathy for fellow Human Beings.

I also suspect that this could be used in Junior Kindergarten. Bring in really funny movies for the kids to watch. The children could laugh together, which just might help develop empathy in those children who have never experienced laughter at home.

Please note this Research Study was published Open Access, so there is No Pay Wall to cross to be able to read it. I personally am grateful for Open Access publishing of Research Studies.

Too often one has to pay to be able cross a Pay Wall to be able to read a Research Study and most Research is funded by Government Agencies which are funded by us the Taxed Payers. In my opinion it seems unfair to the Tax Payers to pay once to finance the Research Study and then have to pay a second time to be able to read the Research Study which Tax Payers helped fund.

One last note. William James (1842-1910) who was the first to offer a Psychology Course in the United States, created a great quote: “We don’t laugh because we’re happy, we’re happy because we laugh.

This could be another RED FLAG to watch for. Does the suspected Narcissist or Disordered Individual genuinely laugh along with others at a gathering? In a longer term relationship, do you both laugh together often or Not At All?

How Extreme Neglect and Abuse turned a child into a Psychopath

How extreme Neglect and then Abuse changed a child. A child needs to form Attachment with their Mother. Look into Mary Ainsworth’s research into Child Attachment Theory.

Abandonment issues during early childhood are common among Narcissists. This video lends credence that Human Monsters are created by the parents and or caregivers of the very young child.

This young child lost her Mother when she was only 1 year old. She and her younger brother were severely neglected, likely from birth. After her Mother died, Beth was abused by her Father.

The abused kids were taken by Child Welfare. They were adopted to a young Husband and wife, who could not have kids of their own.

The Therapist sessions with Beth were video taped. They are horrific to watch. No conscience. A child turned into a Monster, who would kill her brother and adopted parents if given an opportunity. Beth is the result of extreme Childhood Abandonment Trauma and abuse.

Such a young child who wanted to and did hurt her Brother, Pets and young wild birds in a nest. In one scene the Child speaks about hiding sharp knives, to be used to kill her brother and parents.

She calmly spoke of bashing her younger brother’s head against a cement floor. She plainly states that she wanted to kill him. She spoke of deliberately hurting her brother and killing birds and sticking pins in the pets at home. She did so without any empathy, feeling or remorse. It was all cold, without feeling and just a matter of fact.

Watch Beth’s eyes and facial expressions, while she speaks with the Therapist.

The following is quoted from the lifechariot YouTube channel page with the above video:

“Video-taped sessions of her therapy, which includes emotionless confessions, convey the subjective reality of a young girl. This sits alongside objective interview footage of her adopted parents explaining what happened, and the care professional who specializes in treating children with serious attachment disorders. At the end, Beth emerges as a young girl who can feel genuine emotions, and take comfort in others.”

I hope that Beth continues to get help from Healthcare Professionals. It is shocking to see how severe Neglect and Abuse of a child, can turn that child into a cold heartless Monster. It was never the Child’s fault, yet that child will continue to pay the price of said neglect and abuse each day of his or her life. It is not “Nature” which is at fault. It is “Nurture”, or rather the extreme lack of Nurture. Eye opening video. In the future, I will post about Mary Ainsworth’s research into Child Attachment Theory.

I also hope that the child in this video, can fully recover her lost Humanity.
